PPE Production

Former Williamwood High School pupil Róisín Arnold is currently completing the third of her five year MA course is Aeromechanical Engineering at Strathclyde University. As a member of University of Strathclyde Motorsport (USM) team, she is working with her teammates and an organisation in Glasgow called ‘This is Makers’ sourcing materials and making essential PPE for the NHS and carers, they are using their own 3D printers and cutters to make protective visors like this one as well as other PPE equipment.  The PPE production started last week and so far they have made 150 items and are hoping to make 3000 within a month.  All donations are used for materials and all items meet the required NHS and HS standards.  More information on the work that the group are doing can be found on both the USM Facebook page also also the This is Makers Facebook page.  Information about the Great Virtual Bake Off can also be accessed on this page and the picture attached.  More funds are required for materials and donations can be made at: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/glasgow-ppe
