Chemistry Department

Welcome

“Every aspect of the world today – even politics and international relations – is affected by chemistry.”

Professor Linus Pauling – double Nobel Laureate

Chemistry is the study of all matter. Everything in the universe, including the screen that you are sitting in front of, the chair that you are sitting on, the paint on the doors, the fuels that keep you warm, the medicines that make you better and the batteries that power your technology, are all Chemistry in action.

Chemistry is at the cutting edge of all the new materials that are being produced to make our lives easier, longer lasting and more comfortable. There is no change that occurs in our material universe which does not involve chemical processes. Everything is chemistry!
