Yesterday P1 visited Whole Foods Market to learn all about the value of money. We looked for different items that we could buy for £1 (Noah). We found baby sweetcorn, bread and mushrooms that all cost £1 (Olivia, Iain, Findlay).
We also got to sample lots of different foods like pizza, popcorn, pineapple and a green smoothie!
In P.E this term, Primary 1 have been learning some gymastics skills. We have learned to do a forward roll safely and some of us even managed to do one on top of the big box!
Literacy and Numeracy
We have been reading and learning about the order of the alphabet (Moya).
I have been learning to write a sentence. I need to make sure I have a capital letter at the start and a full stop at the end (Rory).
I have been learning my common and tricky words. They help me to read and write (Phoebe).
We can add and take away (Ewan). I like playing the skittles game to take away (Sherwan).
ICT
We can log on, log off and save our work (Charlotte).
Health and Wellbeing
We have been playing games and dancing in PE (Owais).
We have been learning to take part in team games in PE. We need to encourage our team mates and take turns. My favourite game is ‘Stuck in the Mud’ (Iain).
We ‘bounceback’ when we are not well or are feeling upset (James).
Science
The ‘animal man’ came to visit us and we got to touch the animals. Some were hard and some were soft (Hugh).
We have been learning about waterproof materials. We did an experiment to find out what material should be used for ‘Winnie the Pooh’s’ Umbrella (Olivia).

We have been busy in ICT. We’ve been using ‘beebots’ and playing with ‘UNIT’ the robot to help us give directions (Harris).
Autumn
We are going on a trip to Huntly Park. We hope to play on the play park! (Elliot)
We are learning about the different signs of Autumn and will bring some Autumn leaves back from the park (Dan). And acorns too! (Mia)
We might ask the park keeper if he looks after animals in the park (Connor).
