Today Primary 1 had a special visit from author Lynsey McLeod. She came in to read us a story all about Toby the turtle (Noah). The story taught us that we shouldn’t throw plastic bags away because they can go into the sea and hurt the animals (Rory). We need to remember to recycle plastic bags, cans and bottles so the animals don’t get hurt (Olivia).
On Wednesday P1 had a Judo taster session. We had lots of fun learning some judo moves like ‘pinning’ and even picked up some new words in Japanese.
Yesterday P1 visited Whole Foods Market to learn all about the value of money. We looked for different items that we could buy for £1 (Noah). We found baby sweetcorn, bread and mushrooms that all cost £1 (Olivia, Iain, Findlay).
We also got to sample lots of different foods like pizza, popcorn, pineapple and a green smoothie!
In P.E this term, Primary 1 have been learning some gymastics skills. We have learned to do a forward roll safely and some of us even managed to do one on top of the big box!
