Michael Inglis made the most of his Young Scot Card!

On the 16th of October I was invited to attend a special event in Edinburgh celebrating the Young Scot Rewards landmark ‘100 000 Users’ event. Staff from Young Scot along with myself and four other top users spent the day sampling some of the activities which our capital city has to offer. This included a tour of Edinburgh Dungeon (That’s me bottom right!), an Escape Experience in a puzzle solving escape room and, finally, a photoshoot in Edinburgh City Centre with lunch included. I had an amazing experience and can’t thank Young Scot enough for allowing me to participate.

On the Young Scot Rewards website the activities are very informative, fun to use and you can collect points for each one! These activities include sports, health, arts and the environment. These points can be exchanged for rewards such as free tickets for local events or to enter competitions to win prizes such as Fitbits or Headphones, both of which I have been fortunate enough to win. In addition you can use these activities as evidence when applying for Saltire Awards.

I also entered a competition to win a Raspberry Pi and I had to write a paragraph on how it would benefit me, others in my local community and inspire my friends and classmates. I, again, was lucky enough to win and I am now the proud owner of a Raspberry Pi! I also attend a weekly coding club which has improved my technical skills and increased my confidence.
