Graeme Logan, Executive (School Years, Curriculum for Excellence) at Education Scotland recently stated that some of the key messages on raising attainment for all children are:
• Non-negotiable high expectations for all
• Zero tolerance of underperformance
• Poverty and performance should not be linked
• Constantly talking about standards every time teachers work together
• Having a forensic focus on children’s progress: keep shining the spotlight on this
• Helping everyone find their unique genius
