Medic Insight Programme 2018

Medic Insight have announced on their Facebook page that they will be opening up applications for their week long programmes (Dates in June)) in the week commencing 19th February.  The closing date is 25th February and so there is a relatively short window for applications.

The programme itself is run by University of Glasgow Medical Students and they encourage all S5 pupils who are planning to apply for medicine next year to make an application.

The Medic Insight programme offers an insight into the experience of a medical student, exposure to the NHS workplace environment (hospital and GP placement), presentations on core topics and simulated activities.  Pupils from our school who have undertaken this programme are very positive in their feedback and believe that it provides excellent preparation for the undergraduate application process.

Whilst the programme is organised, primarily, by the students at the University of Glasgow, NHS Greater Glasgow supports the medical students to host this on their sites and it will be their NHS clinicians who offer the placement activity.

Please note that this programme is open to S5 pupils who are on track to secure the grades required for medical school.  Students will be asked  to nominate a teachers to provide a reference and these MUST be submitted by Friday 2nd of March to confirm the student’s prelim grades.

The on-line application can be reached using the following link.
