Armed Forces Family Fun Day

Rouken Glen Park is set to become a show ground for the Armed Forces on Saturday 21 June, 12pm – 4:30pm.

East Ren’s Armed Forces Day is a spectacular and FREE family-friendly event to celebrate and remember our Armed Forces and to offer visitors a taste of military life.

There will be a host of attractions for all ages including a pop-up military mess offering tasty treats, a variety of military displays, live events arena, climbing wall and assault courses and a fairground for the little ones. There will also be a farmers market with fresh local produce to sample and buy.

The event opens at 12:15pm with the raising of the Armed Forces Day Flag at Rouken Glen Pavilion.

You can take time out at the pavillion to meet local veterans from Barrhead and hear their memories and experiences of life in the armed forces between 1 – 4pm outside Rouken Glen Visitor Centre.

It is a fantastic day out in the park and it is free for all those who want to attend.

Armed Forces Day is a national celebration designed to give people the opportunity to show support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community, from serving troops to service families and from veterans to cadets.
