6The Scottish Government’s lifelong learning strategy aims to ensure that everyone develops the attributes, knowledge and skills they will need for life, learning and work. The curriculum is all the experiences that are planned for learners to support the development of these skills.
Scotland’s curriculum for 3-18 is designed to provide young people with the knowledge, skills and attributes they need for learning, life and work in the 21st century.
The Scottish Government have produced a range of information factfiles to support the implementation of A Curriculum for Excellence, these can be viewed below:

| Early | The pre-school years and P1, or later for some. |
| First | To the end of P4, but earlier or later for some. |
| Second | To the end of P7, but earlier or later for some. |
| Third and Fourth | S1 to S3, but earlier for some. |
| Children progress at different rates and some will attain levels more quickly than others.
