PSA Christmas Fayre Saturday 24th November 2012 12-3pm
Please join us for the annual Christmas Fayre this coming Saturday. Please let us know if you can help on the day. Any donations for stalls or raffle prizes can be handed in at the school office.

Diversity Day Sunday 25th November
Diversity Day: Sunday 25th November 2012: 2-5pm
The Children’s Diversity Fun Day is a wonderful fun way to learn about different cultures and faith traditions. Children will particpate in Food Tasting, Cultural Dressing Up,and Tradtional Dance. Learning from these activities, children will paint mugs to take home. This will culminate in team games and a tug o war.
The event is for Primary 5, 6, 7 school age children and is held at the Maccabi centre in Giffnock from 2-5pm.
This event has been organised by a unique partnership between faith communities and ERC sports services department and Active Schools. Promoting greater understanding and building relationships has been a strong feature of the work. Youth leaders and volunteers from a diverse range of backgrounds will support the event.

Book Fair
Book Fair
The Travelling Book Fair will be coming to school from the 14th of November till the 21st of November. In order that this runs smoothly we would appreciate if you would take time to read the following points.
The children will visit the book fair by class. They will be allowed to select up to two books. The class teacher and a classroom assistant will help the children make their choice and fill out an order form.
The children will bring the order form home. At this stage you can decide if you agree with their choice. Please make any changes then complete and sign the form and return it, together with a cheque payable to St Cadoc’s Primary School, on the allocated date, shown on your child’s form
Please remember there is no obligation to buy.

World Porridge Day Wednesday 10th October
Wednesday 10th October is World Porridge Day. It costs Mary’s Meals just £7 to provide a daily meal to a Malawian child for a whole year. To support Mary’s Meals Primary 1 will be celebrating World Porridge Day with a Goldilocks and the Three Bears Porridge Picnic. Children should bring a teddy bear and a donation of around £1 to school on Wed 10th October.
York & Castle Toward Trips 2013
There will be two meetings for parents on Tuesday 9th October. The Castle Toward/Ardentinny meeting for P6 parents is at 6.30pm and the York meeting for P7 parents is at 7.30pm. Children are welcome to attend.
P1 “People who Help us”
A big thank you to all the P1 parents who volunteered to talk to the children about their jobs as part of our “People who Help us” topic.
European Day of Languages
Wednesday 26th September is European Day of Languages. In St Cadoc’s we will be enjoying some activities with a French theme and all childen have been asked to wear a “French” accessory.
Ties and Badges now in stock!
Small ties on elastic and blazer badges are now in stock and can be purchased from the school office. Ties are £5 and badges are £4.
St Cadoc’s Gym Bags for Sale!
St Cadoc’s Enterprise Committee are selling drawstring gym bags in house colours. These have the school logo on them and cost £2 each
Curriculum Evening P2-P7
You should, by now have received your invitation to our Curriculum Evening on Wednesday 19th September. Please remember to return the tear-off slip to give us an idea of numbers. If you wish to see a copy of the letter check under Information/Recent Letter Home.
P1 Curriculum Evening Tues 28th August at 6.30
On Tuesday 28th August at 6.30pm Primary 1 parents are invited into school to learn more about what the children are doing in class.
Change of Date
The date for the P4 Thanksgiving Mass has been changed to Monday 3rd June 2013.

P1 Sun Hat Launch
On Thursday 21st June Primary 1 will have some important visitors to help them celebrate the introduction of their new sun hat. All proceeds from sales will go to skin cancer charities.
