World of Work Week

St. Cadoc’s Primary School, Newton Mearns celebrated another wonderful World of Work Week and Financial Education Week. Pupils took part in various workshops, learning about potential careers and job prospects. Pupils were visited by SSPCA, Dog’s Trust, Pilots, Lawyers, a professional tennis player and Barclays Bank to name but a few. Children throughout the school enjoyed taking part in financial education activities learning how to budget, the rise in inflation and setting up shops. St. Cadoc’s Primary would like to take this opportunity to thank our visitors for their continued support.

Fairtrade

The Fair-trade committee continue to raise awareness and money for Fair-trade. This year we have had Fair-trade stalls, lessons created by pupils and a Fair-trade assembly. We have managed to raise £1130 and have been awarded the FairAchiever award by the Fair-trade foundation. This is the highest award that can be won! We are very proud of our achievements and our committee!

Eco Fashion Show

The Eco Committee have been thinking of ways to encourage other children to recycle. They prepared a PowerPoint presentation explaining the materials that can be recycled, and reminded everyone about the materials St Cadoc’s recycle. They also held a ‘Rubbish Runway’ fashion show. Each model wore an outfit made from a recyclable material to demonstrate that recycling can be fun!
