S1-S3
Pupils should review work and notes in their jotters on the text they are studying. They should spend some time checking over, correcting spelling errors, highlighting key words, re-reading and ensuring clarity of meaning and understanding.
Pupils should access the Punctuation & Grammar booklet on GLOW using the link below.
Pupils should continue to read their Personal Readers.

S4-S6
Pupils should re-read set texts.  This is essential to ensure thorough knowledge of the texts, and will also help with the planning of critical responses.
Pupils should write out, memorise and analyse key quotations.
Pupils should set down the key ideas/themes of the texts studied -through listing or mind-mapping.
Pupils should revise and practice Close Reading skills, using Past Papers (https://www.sqa.org.uk/pastpapers/findpastpaper.htm?subject=English&level=http://www.sqa.org.uk/sqa/503.html), reading quality newspapers and identifying techniques (helpsheet can be accessed on GLOW -click link below).
