Sports Day@IMS

Thank you to everyone who came along and supported our very first sports day in the new school.

A very successful event organised by Mrs Goodlad and Alan Martin, Sports Co-ordinator.

The event started off with our very own opening ceremony and all the groups paraded around the mod to the national anthem of their country.

We had sprint races, hurdles, egg and spoon race, boccia and table tennis, events which the pupils all took part in with great enthusiasm.

The popular staff and parent race finished off a very successful day and then everyone recieved a medal.

Th winning team Jamaica, nominated Natasha to collect the Olympic Torch and stand on the winners podium.

Sports Day

The sun is shining for our 1st sports day in our new school.

All the classes have been put into groups, flags are ready and team tactics have been discussed.
Who will be this years champions?

Come and join us today, 28th May at  1.15pm for a fun filled afternoon.

West of Scotland ASN Festival of Sport

Congratulations to the pupils  involved in the Festival of Sport which took place in the Kelvin Hall yesterday, a very successful day.

Our athletes displayed a winning attitude when participating in events such as javelin, long jump and relay/sprint events.

Well done to all that participated, showing excellent team work and making IMS proud!

Olympic Celebrations at IMS

Olympic fever has started early in our school.

We’ve had the “Silly Olympics” from Class Tiree, their very own adaptation of the Olympics which they showcased at the Primary Assembly.

Our very own Olympian, Steve Frew (2002 Commenwealth Gold Medalist)  has been working with some of our senior pupils giving them an insight into what it’s like to be a very successful sports person.

Classes have researched all about the Olympics and have been working very hard and tomorrow we are excited to be welcoming the Olympic torch to our school. (not the real one of course!)

Have a sneak preview of some our  display work which is around the school….

IMS Welcome Event

On Friday 23rd March IMS are holding a “fare thee well” to friends from our old cluster (Williamwood) and “Hello” to friends from our new Eastwood Cluster.

We have linked this event with Sports Relief and are holding our very own Special games throughout the day.

Pupils from both clusters are helping out and we will be supported by Alan Martin and the Active Schools Team.

Some of the events that will take place on the day are; Boccia, Curling, Scottish Dance and Football in the Muga.

It looks like it’s going to be a fun filled event and hopefuly the sun will shine for us on the day!

Swimming Gala

Good luck to pupils from Classes Cumbrae, Arran, Sanda and Mani from Tiree class who are taking part in the West of Scotland SEN Sports Association and Swimming Gala in Blantyre Leisure Pool tomorrow.

This is the first time that these classes have taken part so fingers crossed everything goes swimmingly!
