Isobel Mair Science Team 2015 would like to say a massive THANK YOU to all of the pupils, teaching staff and parents who took part in science week. Our fair was amazing- and involved every class in school.
We would also like to thank the staff from Glasgow University, Strathclyde University and Eastwood High School for hosting workshops all week for the children. We’ve had a mobile planetarium, light diffraction glasses and we’ve even made poo in a bucket!
Have a look at some of our photos from an amazing week……
This morning some of the classes watched the solar eclipse live on the BBC and some of our senior pupils watched it live from the staffroom – what a perfect end to our incredible science week.
Rehearsals for tonight’s performance of a “Sensational Childhood” went well.
The young people from Isobel Mair, Crookfur and St Cadoc’s primary schools all worked really well and the final rehearsal this afternoon was amazing.
Still a few tickets left at the door but almost a full house to see our young people in action.
Everything all set for this mornings Science Fair. Pupils exited to show off their work and try out new experiments, sharing knowledge and skills!
Today we welcome pupils from St Cadoc’s and Crookfur primary schools for a day of rehearsals.
They have all been working together for their show ” Sensational Childhood” which takes place on Thursday evening at Eastwood Theatre.
Tickets are still available via the schools, priced at £5.
This week we are celebrating Science Week and we have been lucky enough to have workshops run by Glasgow Uni, Strathclyde and Glasgow Science Centre.
We are all very excited about the spectrograph session, looking at light diffraction through glasses.
Other activities include CSI forensic workshops, bodyworks ‘Making Poop’ biology workshop and the mobile planetarium.
It certainly is a fun week of learning and fun.
