Getting it Right for Every Child

Following a successful INSET day programme focusing on GIRFEC we would like to invite all parents/carers to an evening event at the school.

As only a few parents could attend the day time event we hope that the evening event will be more convenient.

There will be workshops focusing on:-

  • Out of school activities
  • Post School Transition planning   
  • Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)

GIRFEC Conference

Getting it Right for Every Child

Isobel Mair School are hosting an event on Friday 7th February 2014 to focus on how GIRFEC impacts on the lives of the children and young people who attend the school.

There will be a number of workshops available as well as visiting specialists from other agencies who can provide detailed information about the services they offer in relation to GIRFEC for IMS pupils.

The event will run from 9.00am until 1.00pm, including time for refreshments.

Please feel free to attend or drop on for some of the sessions. If you require more nformation please contact the school office.

Parent Learning

Join us today for another Parent session with the Speech and Language Therapists.

Parent Learning with the Speech and Language Therapists will take place on Monday 20th January  1:30 – 2:30pm.

Our topic this week is Expanding Understanding of Language.

Fragile X Family Support Worker

 Message below from Sandra Thom who is currently working as a Family Support Worker with the Fragile X Society.

I  am writing to introduce myself to you and your colleagues. I am currently working with  the Fragile X Society as their Family Support Worker for Scotland, this post is funded by the Scottish Government as part of their autism strategy funding. 

My role is  to provide information and support for families affected by Fragile X.  This includes providing information and signposting families to relevant services within their local areas mainly by email, in depth telephone support and letter.  We have a range of information papers available and I will also be available to provide information to professionals working with children, young people or adults with Fragile X.
