As part of our Rights Respecting School Award we are looking at different areas across the school.
The Rights Respecting Schools Award (RRSA) Improvement Group have recently launched our school wide Right of the Week project. The aim of the project is to ensure all stakeholders within the school are familiar with the Rights of the Child. As we work towards our Bronze and Silver Awards, we are promoting participation from everyone in the school.
The Right of the Week this week is
“The Right to have a Clean Environment”
Pupils have been working hard helping to look after their environment in school, outside and at home.
Wednesday 20th March is International Day of Happiness.

Give Me BSL Signing Day – Family Celebration Day
Diane Morton, works for Glasgow BDA and runs “Give Me BSL”. They have a family event coming up on the 2nd March in Motherwell. This will be held in Amazonia, at M&D’s theme park.
There will be lots of little animals to see like monkeys, birds, snakes, creepy crawlies and tarantulas.
There will be a BSL tour for parents and children, and also a visit to the handling room where you’ll be able to meet and touch the some of the animals. When the event is finished, lunch which will be provided.
In the afternoon, parents will stay for a discussion on education, and children will head off for some fun at ten pin bowling. Parents and children will meet up again at the end of the day.
