Liz Rodger, Activity Project Officer at Rouken Glen Park has arranged for taster sessions specifically for potential volunteers who have additional support needs. This will take place on Wednesday 29 April from 11 am to 2 pm. Taster sessions will be offered in horticulture – developing our new flower beds, cutting back invasive species like bamboo, landscape photography, and making bug hotels and bird boxes.
Participants should bring their own packed lunch and tea/coffee and biscuits will be provided.
In order to help volunteers with additional needs, I am able to offer bespoke environmental training opportunities for these groups of volunteers. Details will be discussed at our Taster Session on Wednesday 29 April.
For anyone who is interested in volunteering but cannot attend on Wednesday 29 April, we are trialling our first Saturday volunteer taster session on Saturday 23 May at 10 am, which is open to any potential volunteers. Anyone with additional needs will be welcome to attend and can book their place by calling 0141-557 3912 or emailing: roukenglenpark@eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk
