Highlights of the Week!

In preparation for our assembly we have being doing lots of activities over the last two weeks.  We really hope you enjoyed watching our assembly today and learning some facts about Scotland.  We were very excited to show you what we have been working on.

We learnt about two Scottish artists, Avril Paton and Steven Brown.  Their art work inspired us to create our own images.  We worked together to design our own windows (with many interesting ideas).  We also created our very own ‘McCoo’ painting using the same techniques of Steven Brown.  He used line and colour to create his artwork.

We also enjoyed learning a new song.  Thank you very much to Miss Travers who helped us learn the words to ‘Caledonia’  and well done to everyone in class for putting on an amazing performance!

Welcome to Humaz who joined us this week and even took part in the assembly.  Well Done!

Highlights of the Week!

Another exciting week for P4A.  Have a look at what we enjoyed most about this week.

This week we finished look at our ‘Rights Respecting Schools’ topic and completed our class charter.  P4A decided they would like a technology theme so we expressed our feeling through emojis.

Louis persevered with his art work and he was pleased with the outcome.

“We did emoji plates for class charter and it was fun painting it. I did something wrong but I painted over it really easily.”

Lauren  and Eilidh liked the fact that she got to choose how her emoji would look and express her feelings through this.

“ My favourite part was making an emoji plate because it was really fun to design them.” (Lauren)

“I enjoyed art because we got to be expressive.” (Eilidh)

Using ‘George’s Marvellous Medicine’ as inspiration we created our own medicine.  Using our VCOP strategies we created the recipe using as many interesting wow words we could think of.

“I enjoyed writing with Mrs Neil.  We got to make our own medicine and write silly ingredients.” (Kailah)

Highlights of the Week!

Happy Friday! See below what exciting learning experiences we enjoyed this week.

Many of us enjoyed using Sumdog.  We had the chance to log-in and see how we can use this at home to revise and practise some of our maths skills.  Rokaia, Ryan and Maryam all loved getting a chance to use this interactive activity.  Mhairi also enjoyed using her maths skills and challenged herself by playing against others in the class.

There was lots of opportunities during literacy that we really enjoyed this week.  We all got a chance to hunt round the class for ‘silly sentences’ that didn’t contain any punctuation.  As punctuation detectives we had to find these sentences and decide with our partner what punctuation was missing.  We used what we had learnt last week to help us.

Finally, we had the chance to learn about an important event taking place.  Eid-Al-Adha is a celebration happening this week.  To find out more about who celebrates this and why we research this event and created our very own fact files.

“I liked doing the Eid-Al-Adha factfiles because it was exciting and good to learn more.” (Eesa)
