EWHCF Class of 2020

P7a 11th November to 15th November

It has been a busy week involving parents night, Anti-bullying week and going down to the woodland.

On Monday Anti-bullying week started, in class we discussed problems with bullying and how you can prevent bullying and why, usually bullies bully people. We also had an activity that were you had to write something that something mean you called or said someone. Then we put them in a tub and went through them all and we acted out to see how hard it was to say these things to each other, even though people actually say it.

In maths some of us were learning about measuring and calculating angles. We learned about supplementary and complementary angles.

Wednesday lunchtime was our first experience in the Woodland area during lunchtime and it was great fun. There was a lot of team work supporting each other to climb as well as working together to discover nature. Over the next few weeks we will be exploring the area and using it to help work towards our John Muir award. Please remember and bring boots and any outdoor clothes on a Wednesday.

In P.E. We got an extra slot in the MUGA and since it was a cold and frosty morning we warmed up by playing ‘Capture the Flag’. It certainly warmed everyone up and Mrs Norman was impressed with our team work.

On Thursday afternoon we settled in to our new group reading in class. Taking the opportunity to do paired reading within our group. We have recently been discussing the importance of reading and how it helps to strengthen our own creative writing.

Finally we ended our week building some planets as part of our Solar System. We are applying our mathematics skills by using scales to shrink each planet down. Jupiter and Saturn are going to be the most challenging!
