This week in Primary 2 we were learning about …
Cameron and Emily completed their murder mystery problem – They are still not completely sure who the murder was!!
Mrs Robertson’s group were practising their fact families to 20 by using a sheet to colour in different squares. – Alexander, Calum and Lucy.
The Calculators were learning how to read data from Bar Graphs and they had to work out most popular, least popular and the differences between the amounts shown. – Jessica
In language Mrs Rattray’s side was learning how to take notes. The books we got to choose from were very interesting!– Cameron, Emily and Lucy.
The Wizard of Oz group and the Cat in the Hat group were continuing to work on their comprehension skills. We had to scan for keywords and then pick out the information. – Farhan, Alexander and Jessica
Mrs Grubb’s language group were practising their inference skills. We had to look through a families rubbish to see what inferences we could draw about the family that lived there. We also played a ‘what word’ game where others had to give clues about places shown on the whiteboard to allow the guesser to infer what we were talking about. – Alexander, Ava, Lily, Riley and Farhan
The Tigers started a new topic on ‘houses and homes’ we now know how to tell if a house is new or old. We look at the bricks, if there s moss or not on the walls, windows and paintwork. – Cameron and Ava.
What really made you think?
What really made me think was my comprehension questions today at language. I kept looking back at the book to help me. – Alex
My maths really made me think this week- I had to think about the fact families. – Corinne
Paired reading really made me think this week. I had to use the text to answer the questions – Naomi
My spelling test really made me think this week. I had to practise all of my ‘oo’ words. – Rebecca
