Congratulations to Harry in the Wizard of Oz group who got learner of the week for trying his best with all of his work this week!

 

Congratulations to Erin in the Calculator group who was our maths learner of the week for doing great job with her Carroll Diagrams!

In primary 2 this week we have been learning how to …

 

In play we have been continuing to learn about health and our five food groups in our role play food shop. Jessica sorted all of our food into the different groups.

 

In science we have been continuing with our energy topic we have been talking about the dangers of electricity and watched a funny video! We have learned not have water near electricity, not to put things in the sockets and not to go near the electricity poles outside. We are still making our energy powerpoints in ICT. – Lucy G, Aiden and Rebecca

 

The Rubies and Sapphires are continuing to work on problem solving. We have different word problems that we had to solve. We could use what we wanted to help us solve these problems. – Riley, Calum, and Bethany

 

In focus groups this morning the Outdoor Learning group were learning how to dig up worms!! EWW Timothée and Naomi

In language this week the Wizard of Oz and The Cat in the Hat group have been learning how to create their own right there questions from the text. – Corinne and Farhan

 

The Wizard of Oz and The Cat in the Hat group were learning about inference. We had to look for clues in the text and we practised using short story cards. We had to infer the time of year it was talking about. – Alexander

 

The Marvellous Meercats and Amazing Alligators were learning about synonyms – (words with similar meanings), antonyms (words with opposite meanings) and homonyms (words that sound the same but have different meanings). We were playing a game was that a jigsaw. – Emily and Cameron

 

The Wizard of Oz group have started reading chapter books and it took us two days to read the whole book! We really enjoyed reading it. – Alex
