On Thursday we went to Eastwood to take part in swimming and games in the gym hall. We were spilt into two groups and we did separate girl and boy swimming. It was really fun we played water polo, octopus tig and lots more. We enjoyed working with the young sports leaders. We would love to do it again!

Euler started a new maths topic all about measurement. We finished looking at decimals but will still revise this! We were estimating and measuring each other in partners. We then started to measure things in the classroom and we had to decide if we’d you mm, cm or m.

We started our new topic called Bands on Tour. We create our bands and made a poster about them detailing the band members and the band name. Today we received a letter to say our band won a competition and will be going on a European tour. We played a memory game where we had to create a map of Europe, it was great fun! We have started to think about planning our tour. In a few weeks we are going to create our tour buses so we have started to collect junk!

This week has been Road Safety Week we took part in two walking buses even in the pouring rain! The JRSOs went round each class and gave presentations to them about what road safety is and why it’s important. We took part in the five day walking challenge and we had to count how many people walked to school each day. On average, about two thirds of our class walk to school each day.  We had a badge design competition as well! The winners will hopefully be announced next week so we are looking forward to that.

In writing we wrote a letter to the council to try and convince them that we needed more help with road safety. We spoke about how this year we would be doing our bikeability on the road however there are no cycle lanes around our school therefore it’s difficult to cycle to school safely.

We went down to P1 and read stories to them. It was really fun because we had to keep them engaged by using different voices and talking about the stories. We would love to do that again!

The badminton club have gone to a tournament today and we are hoping they have had fun. We are looking forward to hearing about it on Monday.
