‘Social Bite’
As part of Scottish School Meals Week, the kitchen will be selling ‘Social Bite’ biscuits at break and lunch time tomorrow (Friday 4th November) . The biscuits will cost 35p, 10p of which will be donated to Social Bite. The biscuits must be paid for in cash at the time of purchase. They cannot be purchased using money from your child’s school meal account.
Social Bite is a ‘Social Business’ – 100% of their profits are given to good causes and 1 in 4 of their team are formerly homeless people. They also feed the local homeless community through their ‘Suspended Coffee and Food’ initiative.

Official Opening of ‘Busby Bairns Bothy’
We held the official opening of our new Nursery Playground on Friday 11th September. Provost Carmichael cut the ribbon in traditional fashion.
A special thank you to Michelle Sweeney who applied for a grant on behalf of the school to Whitelees Wind Farm.
Further thanks to our Busby Nursery Class Parent Support Group who were proactive in obtaining additional funding from the Big Lottery Fund and of course their own fund raisers efforts.
We were joined by our Acting Head of Service – Janice Collins, local MSP Ken Macintosh, Councillor Lafferty and Provost Carmichael and our parent support group who all enjoyed the sun and a cream tea!
Many thanks
Sharon Hunter
