Registering your Child for Primary School 14th – 18th January 2013

East Renfrewshire Council has set up one week when you should register your child for school education in East Renfrewshire.  You must register at your catchment school, even if you intend to make a placing request to another school or to defer your place and keep your child at home for another year.  The school will be able to provide you with a placing request form.  You will require to complete this form and return it to the Education Department.

If you intend to educate your child privately or at home you should still register at your local catchment school.

You may choose to enrol you son or daughter in either the local denominational or local non-denominational school.  This choice will determine the secondary school to which your child will transfer.

If your child is aged five between 1 March 2013 and the end of February 2014 you shuld come along to the primary school bewteen 1.30pm and 3.30pm any day during the week of Monday 14 January 2013 to Friday 18 January 2013.

You should bring your child’s birth cirtificate, your child benefit statement or a bank statement showing your child benefit award, a copy of your current council tax notice and mortgage statement or rental agreement.
