S1 pupils have been creating fabulous models as part of their first piece of homework. They were given the brief to create a model of anything with a link to geography and with their name in it. The imagination and hard work by all the pupils – and helpful mums, dads, carers, grans and papas was outstanding. We are looking forward to another set arriving in the second term when the pupils have rotated to their other social subject.
Our first Premiership visit of the session saw a first visit to Old Trafford to see the mighty Manchester United take on Stoke City.

Our seats gave a great view of the goal-mouth action.
The 45 pupils still had a great time and represented the school and themselves superbly. This contributed to making it a great experience for the 4 staff accompanying them.
The S4 DofE group hiked from Strathaven to the Whitelees windfarm as part of their Bronze DofE Award. Here’s to a warm (and dry) night camping under the stars. #BeautifulDay #AwesomeStudents

Grow Wild won the Best Environmental Project award at the recent Big Lottery Awards. Some of our pupils were present on the day when the award was announced at the Waterworks in Barrhead and then featured in the video clip played at the awards ceremony with 2 of the girls speaking (unfortunately although the other 2 also spoke well, they suffered at the hands of the editors!).
The extract below is from the Awards ceremony on BBC on Sunday 11th September.
A group of pupils and staff joined together on Saturday to take part in the Pretty Muddy Run.
