All pupils should have received a letter (link below) on Friday with details of the school trips which staff have proposed running this session (and a couple of possible ones for next session).
It is unlikely we would be able to run all of these but we are wanting to gauge the interest to identify the most popular choices. If your son / daughter would like to go on a trip, please complete the form and return it this week.
That will help us to finalise which trips will be available.
Rapid Response is ideally suited to Curriculum for Excellence as an interdisciplinary project which challenges pupils to consider the importance of STEM subjects – Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
Students compete in groups of 6 completing a variety of problem-solving tasks including purifying water, building shelters and transporting water.
S2 pupils have also been working hard to create DIY volcanoes. This year saw some of our best ever entries; we had cakes, explosions and cross-sections!
All the volcanoes were of a very high standard and fitted the brief – to have the correct outer shape and colouring of a volcano, with some also showing the volcano’s inner structure.
A big thanks to all the mums, dads, carers, grans and papas for all their support (and putting up with the mess!)
S3 pupils created model towns from Lego to show the growth and structure of cities – all demonstrated a very good understanding of the different land use zones within cities and how these are changing.
A reminder that all S1 and S2 pupils will rotate between History and Geography after the October break.
Can you help? If anyone is off on a break over the October week could you send us a postcard!
We use these to help decorate our large wall maps and with our Travel and Tourism classes.
S1 pupils have been creating fabulous models as part of their first piece of homework. They were given the brief to create a model of anything with a link to geography and with their name in it. The imagination and hard work by all the pupils – and helpful mums, dads, carers, grans and papas was outstanding. We are looking forward to another set arriving in the second term when the pupils have rotated to their other social subject.
