Parent Council Meeting
Our parent council will meet tonight in the library at 7pm.
New School Finance Approved
Great news just through this evening – the finance for the new school has been approved. Finance Secretary John Swinney gave the go-ahead late this afternoon for 12 new capital investment projects worth £330m including ten schools … but most importantly for us, listing Barrhead High School as one of them.
We have no word as yet of the proposed timescale but he stated that “I am able today to advise local authorities … that they can proceed to contract award with the hub projects under the revised model”.

I will keep pupils, staff and parents fully up-dated as things develop. In the meantime, we are happy to welcome this significant step towards the provision of facilities that the whole Barrhead community has been waiting for and deserve.

Parent Council Meetings
Our parent council intends to hold a number of meetings throughout the coming session. Please see further details below.
Consultation Evening on the Plans for the New School – Wed 28th January 2015
A public consultation is being held on Wednesday 28 January into the plans for the new Barrhead High School.
It will be held in the Ralston Room of Barrhead High School for five hours – from 3pm to 8pm – to give as many people as possible the chance to come in and find out more. Feel free to drop in at any time convenient to yourself.
There will be the chance to ask questions of the team who have drawn up the plans for the replacement building.
All parents are welcome, as are all staff and interested members of the Barrhead community. Pupils will get the same opportunity the following morning in school.

The Men in Black – Curry & Comedy Night – Men Only!
THE MEN IN BLACK – Curry & Comedy Night – For Men Only!
Duncan McGregor, on behalf of the Parent Council, has organised an evening for men on Friday 20th June in the Masonic Hall.
Curry, games, raffle and talks from 3 well-known “men in black” will feature. See here for full details.

Parent Council Meetings
The Parent Council are planning to hold a series of meetings throughout the year. More information can be found on the Parent Council’s page.
The Parent Council would like to extend a warm welcome to all parents of Barrhead High students and look forward to meeting with many of you at their first meeting on Monday, 9th September 2013. This will be held in the school library starting at 7pm.
