Barrhead High recently purchased two new sets of football strips – one for the boys and another for the girls.
.
I think you’ll agree that both the boys & girls are looking very professional in their new strips!

A HUGE well done to the netball team!!!
On Tuesday, 12th March Barrhead High hosted a netball tournament against Woodfarm High School. The teams played three games, and Barrhead had a victory in every game!!!
The scores were 8 – 2 , 10 – 6, and 10 – 4.
Well done everyone, you all had a fantastic game!!
Also, well done do Briony Giblin who won the shooting competition.
If anyone would like to join the netball team, we train on a Monday after school from 3.45pm – 5pm.
All ages welcome and it doesn’t matter if you have never played before or you are a pro!
Thanks and well done again!

Congratulations to Ailish Douglas, who completed her sponsored swim for Alzheimer Scotland – 100 lengths in 65 minutes – and then went on to do an extra 30 for “fun” so she could complete 2 miles!
Both Barrhead News and PULSE FM will feature her efforts.
Ailish is 90% of the way towards her £600 target – if you wish to add support, please speak to Ailish or visit her justgiving webpage.
Ailish Douglas is planning a sponsored swim at the Lagoon centre on the 22nd February 2013 to raise money for Alzheimer Scotland.
Ailish has set herself an ambitious target of 100 lengths of the pool. If you would like to contribute to Ailish’s effort, then please do so through Ailish’s just-giving page.
The school under 14 football team beat Eastwood 5 – 4 in a thrilling game at Eastwood’s new astroturf pitch. Barrhead came back from 2 – 0 and 3 – 2 down, to lead 5 – 3, before Eastwood pulled one back in the last minute. David Mundemba scored a hat trick, with one from the penalty spot. The other goals were scored by Connor Davidson and Steven Pringle.
Congratulations to the senior debaters, Daniel Cunningham and Jamie MacKenzie (S6) who argued the rights and wrongs of inheritance tax in St Columba’s School on Wednesday the 9th of January with great skill, poise and passion.
They were successful in winning the debate as well as progressing to the next round of the competition. We wish them all the best in the future rounds.
If parents wish to find out more about debating at Barrhead High School they should get in touch with the school by email and direct their enquiry to A Laitano or A Beaton in the English Department.

A well done to all of our S1, S2 and S3 pupils who attended Netball last term. Everyone worked very hard and attendance was excellent!
The teams played various matches against other schools with most of the results being a victory!
We also managed to take the pupils to see a professional match in the new Emirates Arena, Glasgow to watch teams playing in the World Premier Club Challenge.
In this new term we are arranging more school matches and tournaments and hope for an exciting time ahead.
