RNIB Visit

A speaker from the RNIB (Royal National Institute of Blind People) visited the school recently to talk to S4 English pupils who have been tuding Edwin Morgan’s poem, ‘In the Snack-bar’.

Pupils listened attentively as Ken Reid described his every day life and answered questions that pupils had prepared.

Here is some feedback from pupils:

“I found the fact that Ken could still negotiate around and cook for himself interesting.”

“I found the visit from Ken interesting because it helped me understand the diffiiculties that blind people have to cope with every day.”

After the S4 class, Ken went on to talk to the first years at their assembly. An enlightening experience for all.

S2 Parents’ Information Meeting

The meeting to discuss the progress of your S2 son or daughter will take place this Thursday 27th Feb from 4.00 pm until 6.30 pm.

As we approach the Options process for S2 pupils, this meeting will give parents and pupils some important and helpful information to assist in the decision-making process.

As well as the Options Information meeting for parents last week, all S2 pupils received their full report last Friday (or this Monday for some) and all pupils were given the two information booklets today which explain the process and give detailed information on subjects for S3.

Options interviews will take place next Friday, 7th March, with the Pupil Support teachers.
