The S5 & S6 Parents’ Evening will take place this Thursday from 4pm – 6.30pm.
Students are currently making appointments with their teachers, and can do so up until 3.35pm on Thursday.
We look forward to welcoming you on the evening.

Is Parents’ Night stressful for you due to childcare issues? Read on!
Senior students studying Child Care at college will be running a Kids’ Club during each Barrhead High parents’ evening. Children aged 3-8 can attend our new Kids’ Club where they can participate in a number of fun activities – colouring in, play doh, board games, arts and crafts and much more!
Parents will then be free to meet with the teachers of older siblings and focus on the teacher’s comments without having to supervise younger children. Children will be signed in and out and properly supervised for the duration of the evening.

Well done to all of our S1-S6 female students who are in the process of learning a dance routine as part of Active Girls Day 2015.
All of the girls across all year-groups are getting involved. Later on today the girls will perform together in one enormous #ActiveGirlsDay finale!

Hard lines to the S1/2 football team who in spite of their best efforts lost 11-1 against a strong S2 St Luke’s team.
Despite being behind and up against it for the whole game, effort levels did not drop nor did the standard of behaviour on the pitch.

As you will be aware, we carried out an evacuation of the school today. This was in response to information received, although no specific threat was indicated. The evacuation was carried out very efficiently and pupils and staff followed our procedures well for a full evacuation to a designated area with a full building check. Although it turned out that there was no cause for concern, all procedures for evacuation and checking were carried out thoroughly and in conjunction with Police Scotland. The timing of this meant that pupils could not re-enter the school over lunchtime and Period 5 was then given over to lunch to allow pupils, particularly S1 (who do not leave the school at lunchtime) and those entitled to free meals, to be fed. Classes resumed as normal at Period 6 and school will be open as normal tomorrow.
