Barrhead Cluster Concert involving pupils from: Barrhead High School, Auchenback Primary, Carlibar Primary, Cross Arthurlie Primary and Springhill Primary will be held on Tuesday 6 March at 7pm in Carlibar Primary School Theatre. Tickets are available from Barrhead High School office 0141-577-2100 .
Over the coming few weeks painting, carpeting and new lighting will be completed around the school. The Theatre, stairwells and several classrooms are having a makeover. The heating in the Theatre is also being repaired which will allow weekly assemblies to resume.
400+ lockers have also been purchased and information regarding these will be available in the future.
An additional 25 desks and chairs were also purchased which will give the school a full set of examination desks and chairs for the SQA examinations in May 2012.
East Renfrewshire Council has also agreed in year 2012-2013 capital expenditure funding to replace the swimming pool with a dance/drama/fitness area.
Over the coming weeks S4 and S5 will be looking at what subjects they wish to progress with in Session 2012-2013. This booklet will explain what departments may offer next Session. Each student will have an interview with either their Pastoral Support Teacher or a member of the Senior Leadership Team. Their choices for next Session will be confirmed in August. The S4, S5 and S6 prelims are now completed and marking is underway by staff. Over the coming weeks staff will feedback to pupils their results and then complete a short written comment to Parents/Carers which will be issued in March. In the meantime, if any Parent/Carer has any concerns regarding their child’s performance in these examinations please contact either their Pastoral Support Teacher or Year Head (Mr McEwan -S4 or Mrs Crawford S5/6).
We have been approached by Green Space who are considering funding a skate park in Cowan Park. If you would like to be involved in the consultation process please come along to the Eco Group meeting on Monday 27th Feb in the school library at 3.35pm where they will be asking for pupil viewpoints on whether it should go ahead or not. If you want to have your say then make sure you attend. Please let Ms Potter know beforehand if you are attending.
