Pupil consultation for a Skate Park

Skate Boarding

We have been approached by Green Space who are considering funding a skate park in Cowan Park. If you would like to be involved in the consultation process please come along to the Eco Group meeting on Monday 27th Feb in the school library at 3.35pm where they will be asking for pupil viewpoints on whether it should go ahead or not. If you want to have your say then make sure you attend. Please let Ms Potter know beforehand if you are attending.

Litter Picks

Thank you to all those who helped out last week in our local litter pick.  We have more picks planned over the coming weeks so if there is an area close to the school you would like us to visit just let us know via the school office and we will do our best to help out.

I Can Do Anything

S2 pupils were a credit to the school last week as they took part in our annual ‘I Can Do Anything’ event.  The event helps to raise awareness about a range of careers prior to pupils choosing their subject options.  A special thank you to all the business delegates who gave up their own time to support our event.  Many of the pupils expressed how interesting and useful they found the event.

Splendid Barrhead Victory!

Congratulations to the U14 Football Team on their 1-2 victory over Johnstone High School.  The difficult away fixture took place in treacherous conditions at Ferguslie Park, Paisley.

The boys gave a courageous display and exhibited a strong team ethic,  managing to overcome an early setback after conceding a penalty kick.

Robbie Townsend levelled the score after winning a brave challenge with the opposition keeper and Mark McKinnie’s cool finish ensured the 3 points returned to Aurs Road!

The players involved were – Ross Cooper, Ben Clements, Luke Wilson, Christopher Patrick, David Mundemba, Robbie Townsend, Daniel McCusker, Stuart Faulds (c), Gary Pritchard, Jamie McQuade, John Davis, Michael Toal, Ewan Stevenson & Mark McKinnie.

Mr Galloway and Mr Hendrie were both extremely proud of the boys – not only for getting a positive result but for the impeccable conduct displayed.
