Fairtrade Group
Congratulations to Barrhead High’s Fairtrade Group. As a result of the hard work and commitment shown by the pupils we have once again been awarded Fairtrade School status.
May 2012 Newsletter
As a trial, to encourage a “greener” approach and help save on paper, we have today issued a summary version of the Newsletter on paper to all pupils (apologies for the October date!). The full version can be accessed directly from the website or a paper copy can be obtained from the School Office. Please let us know if you find this an acceptable approach for the future.
Duke of Edinburgh Award
Congratulations to Ross Bernard, Ross McLardy, Noah Telerman, Ally Campbell, Kirsty McDonald, Alan Watson (all S3), Olivia Ross, Lorna Cairns, Nicola Hopewell, Ciara Morton (all S4) and Richard Barr (S5) on completing a 2 day, 1 night Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s award practice expedition. The pupils enjoyed themselves and were a credit to the school. Good luck for the final expedition in June!
SQA examination – information regarding procedures
Pupils who attended S4, S5 and S6 assemblies today were given
- An individual timetable for the SQA examinations
- SQA candidate number card
- Information booklet from the SQA entitled ‘Your Exams’
SQA EXAMS 2012 this is a pdf file of the booklet.
Mrs Crawford and Mr Sinclair went over the procedures highlighting
- All pupils must register 30 MINUTES BEFORE the start of the examination (paper (1) only)
- All pupils must wear full school uniform
- No mobiles etc should not be in their possession during the examination
- Absence from an examination must be covered by a medical certificate within 10 days
- Consequences of improper conduct

Head Girl and Head Boy presentations
Rebecca Ziola and Connor Wasson – our Head Girl and Head Boy- received an engraved glass plaque and a certificate from Councillor Laverty and John Wilson, Director of Education, for recognition of the contributions they have made to Barrhead High School this Session. Connor and Rebecca have one final task left this Session – their Graduation speech – before moving onto study Architecture (Rebecca) and Physics (Connor) at University in September.
SQA examinations – timetables
All SQA candidates will receive an individual timetable next Monday 30 
April during assemblies dedicated to SQA examination procedures. S5 and 6 will be period 3 and S4 will be period 5. Candidates will also received their SQA candidate number cards which must be taken into every examination. Candidates must sign in with Mrs Crawford AT LEAST 30 MINUTES prior to the start of their examination. Only one copy of candidates timetables will be issued THESE MUST BE KEPT SAFE.

EASTER SCHOOL – SUPPORTING SQA EXAMS
