Barrhead High School celebrated achievement for its S4, 5 and 6 pupils at an award ceremony on Friday 26th April. The ceremony was attended by friends and family of the recipients. Hadyn Park Patterson started the proceedings by performing a musical piece on guitar whilst the Rights Respecting School Group gave a presentation on the work they have been doing towards Unicef’s Level 1 Rights Respecting School Award.
Well done to all pupils who received an award in recognition of their hard work but a special well done to Neil MacCuish in S4 and Cameron McLauchlan in S5 who achieved the highest number of Excellence awards for their year groups – an outstanding achievement.

On Saturday the 25th of March our S6 pupils, Daniel Cunningham and Richard Halligan, braved the snow and cold winter weather to take part in the semi finals of the ESU Mace Competition held at Fettes College in Edinburgh. They debated with great skill against the need to have trial by jury and received extremely positive feedback on their performance.
Although not successful in getting through to the final, we want to congratulate them for reaching such a high stage of a very tough competition, for their hard work and dedication and for continuously receiving high praises from both judges and audiences.
We hope that this will be the start of their successful debating career and that many others will follow in their footsteps!
The next meeting of the Equalities Forum will take place on 16 May 2013 at Woodfarm High School at 4.30pm.Parents are welcome to attend. If you would like further information please contact Miss Potter.
