SHOWMYHOMEWORK – A New Initiative

One of the most significant effects on a young person’s progress can happen through the engagement of parents/carers in their child’s learning. Barrhead High School has subscribed to ‘Show My Homework’ to remove any barriers there may be for parents accessing/understanding what homework should be completed at home.

We intend in using this Homework App starting Monday 3 September.  To prepare for the launch of this initiative your child will have received by the end of the day tomorrow:-

  • A letter introducing the initiative
  • An Acceptance Letter – which needs to be signed and returned to the school office
  • A letter with codes and instructions on how to login – this can be used by a maximum of 5 people.

To support you further we have also provided you with an electronic guide.  If you wish a paper copy of this please ask your child to collect one from the office staff. Guide for Parents

If you wish you can attend a Help/Information Meeting at Barrhead High School on the Big Steps:

Wednesday 29 August at 1700 hours

Wednesday 29 August at 1800 hours

Monday 3 September at 1700 hours

The Head Teacher is positive that by using the package you will feel more informed and involved in your child’s learning.

Any further information or concerns can be passed to Mrs Crawford – Depute Head (0141 577 2100).

LAST CHRISTMAS AT BARRHEAD HIGH SCHOOL

With the new building well on its way, this is possibly our last Christmas in this building.  Pupils and staff therefore have started decorating classrooms, games hall and today pupils started decorating the dining hall.  Christmas parties have been organised for S1, S2 and the seniors over the coming 2 weeks and all junior pupils have been learning traditional Scottish ceilidh dances.  Pupils have enjoyed the dancing so much that they even had a quick practice in the Dining Hall at lunchtime today.  Details of the parties will be on the website next week.
