Travel & Tourism class

The Travel and Tourism class took part in a visit to Tesco in Barrhead this morning to learn about Customer Service and Employability skills. We walked to the store, were shown around, spoke to various staff at different levels and departments and even had a shot on the tills!

The following pupils were absolutely outstanding and a real credit to the school:

Sinead, Keir, Darren, Kayleigh, Amy, Sophie, Aaron

The pupils benefited hugely from this experience.

U14 football team

Team went down 2-1 against Eastwood yesterday. The boys put up a spirited display and performance, but just not enough in the end. In my opinion (obviously a tad biased) the boys deserved something from the game.

MOTM: Logan didn’t put a foot wrong the whole game.  Two goal line clearances and a number of mazy runs to help out offensively.

Goalscorer: Christopher (S1) smashed the ball into the back of the net after the goalkeeper pushed out an Owen free kick.

Behaviour was impeccable again, highlighted by opposing coach and referee.

Hard lines boys, roll up the sleeves for next week.

Making Maths Count

MakingMathsCountThe Scottish government have brought an expert group together to look at how enthusiasm for and participation in maths can be increased.

The project is about maths skills for everyone, but there is a particular emphasis on young people, their parents and carers. The group are really interested to hear from parents about how they feel about maths and supporting their children with maths.

The group are looking for both students and parents to participate in an online questionnaire found here:

www.gov.scot/makingmathscount

You can keep up-to-date with the groups progress by following them on Twitter @MathsScot or by following the hashtag #MoreThanSums.
