Scholar Online Sessions

A reminder to all of our S4, S5 & S6 students, that Scholar runs a variety of online sessions every week, to support your learning.

For example:

Monday, 18th Mar – Higher Physics online session from 6pm.

Tuesday, 19th March – Higher English online session from 6pm.

Thursday, 20th March – Higher Biology online session from 6pm.

To keep up-to-date with the sessions that are available, and to get access to any resources the online sessions may use, open the Scholar Online Session Schedule.

** To login to Scholar, students should first access Glow, then click on the Scholar tile.

Morgan Stanley – Technology Step In, Step Up

Morgan Stanley are inviting all female S4-S6 students to apply for their Step In, Step Up programme.

The one-day event (to be held on Wednesday, 19th June 2019) is very much focussed on technology, and will give you the opportunity to get involved in interactive challenges, panel sessions and workshops.

If this sounds appealing, then you need to submit an online application by Friday, 29th March 2019.

Following the consultation exercise with staff, pupils and parents, into recognising achievement, we are now able to confirm the dates for the S1-3 Award Ceremonies

  • S1 Awards Ceremony   Mon 3rd June 2019   2.30 pm
  • S2 Awards Ceremony   Tues 4th June 2019   2.30 pm
  • S3 Awards Ceremony   Wed 5th June 2019   1.40 pm

Women in Engineering Conference

The university of Aberdeen, in conjunction with BP, are hosting an engineering conference to encourage girls into STEM careers.

The conference takes place over three days, is fully funded and involves a visit to BP North Sea Headquarters, where students will meet other female engineers.

If you are interested in this opportunity, then please see Mr Boag ASAP.  Students are required to submit an application form and a school reference. Successful candidates will be notified after consideration of their application.

S2 Parents’ Evening

S5-6 Parents NightA reminder to all S2 parents:

The S2 Parents’ Evening will take place on Thursday, 28th February from 4pm – 6.30pm.

Students should make individual appointments with each of their teachers.

We look forward to welcoming you later this evening.

S4 Option Choices

doors-optionsOver the next few weeks all S4 students will be looking at the subjects they wish to continue studying in 5th year.

The following booklets explain what courses are available to students:

1.  National 5 courses

2.  Higher courses

3.  Foundation Apprenticeship courses

4.  Additional courses

Each student will have an interview with either their Pastoral Support Teacher or a member of the Senior Leadership Team, to help them with their decision.

If students are unclear about what a particular course involves, then they are welcome to ask for advice from a teacher or principal teacher of that subject.

The S1 Parents’ Evening will take place on Thursday, 7th February from 4pm – 6.30pm.

 

Students are currently making appointments with their teachers, and can do so up until 4pm on Thursday.
