Barrhead High School, along with ‘Still Game’, a local retired people’s club and East Renfrewshire Council are through to the final voting stage in the Grow Wild competition with a chance to win £100,000 of Big Lottery Funding.
The Water Works project aims to transform the abandoned sewage works into an industrial wildlife area, using the derelict sewage tanks as giant experimental planters where wild flower habitats can be carefully created. If successful the project will play an important role in our pupils achieving their John Muir Trust Discovery Level Award and in the school renewing its Green Flag status.
There are only 3 projects shortlisted for the whole of Scotland … and there will only be one winner. The result now depends on the public vote … so we need your help!
Voting is now open and will close on the 3rd November. Please vote now at www.vote.growwilduk.com
