In science we learned about sound. We did lots of practical experiments to learn how sound travels.
In ICT we used a search engine to research information on how animals communicate. We selected appropriate information and then created a PowerPoint presentation using Google slides using the information we researched.
Leonna – I really like the tuning fork experiment when the water flew out of the cup.
Zoe – I was interested in learning how animals can communicate with each other.
Nathan M – I enjoyed watching the video clips showing how sound travels through the air.
In Social studies we have been learning about Fairtrade. We captured our learning in a floorbook.

We demonstrated our new skill in music by playing the ukulele. We have been learning this since September and are able to play 4 different chords. We showcased Big Writing and Zoe read out her story. We demonstrated our fitness and showed photographs of our work on fitness. We presented animations telling the story of the battle of Stirling bridge. We learned and sang a song called Don’t Give Up by Bruno Mars.
Kelsie – Our assembly was very successful.
Amy – It was a lot of fun learning our words and song.
Paige – Our assembly was great, I was amazed at how well we did.
Welcome to P5 with Mr McDowell and Mrs Moody. We are based in room 11 upstairs. The children suggested themes for group names, which we then voted on to choose our theme, which was social media. The children created their individual designs and selected their favourite from each group.
We investigated children’s rights by looking at the UNCRC articles. We looked at the rights that would apply within our classroom. Each group came up with 6 class rules based on these rights. We then looked at similar rules and narrowed this down to 6 rules for our class charter.
