Maths Treasure Hunts
In September Primary 5a had lots of fun doing a maths treasure hunt. Each card was placed somewhere in the gym hall and we had to read the card, find the answer and then look for the card around the hall which had the answer on it. It was a great way of practising our skills and knowledge of addition, subtraction and multiplication.
Numeracy
The circles and the triangles have been learning about more than and less than. The crocodiles helped them to remember the correct position of the signs. It only eats big numbers. They were all very successful in this learning.
The squares have investigated 3D objects and in doing so are now able to say how many faces, edges and corners these objects have. They also made these 3D objects from nets that they cut up. Well done to Adam,Cameron C., Daisy and Grace.
Our Favourite Rainforest Animals
Pr. 3 Assembly
Pr. 3 took part in an assembly about Numeracy and Maths. We spoke about the different ways in which we used our maths skills. Through our Social Studies topic on the Rainforest we measured the length of a typical rainforest tree, we made symmetrical butterflies and we located rainforest animals in the playground using map grid references. We were GGGRRREAT and the assembly was enjoyed by all.
