The gardening group looked at our outside area at the back of the school. We cleared up many of the leaves and litter which was lying around before making birdhouses ready for the spring time! Hopefully our garden will be blossoming come April!

Primary 5 a were challenged to design and make an egg cup. We had to make an egg cup that could stand up and that could hold an egg. We also used our imaginations to make these wonderful, colourful creations – every one is completely different.
We made these jars using recycled jars we collected. We were careful and patient and added newspaper and paste, keeping it very smooth. Next some of us added a design made of pipe cleaners, then we covered it in toilet paper so that our colours would be bright. We finished them off by painting them and then varnishing them. Some people added jewels.
Primary 5a looked at some pictures painted by Claude Monet. They tried to use the same style of painting to create their own and many of them were very successful. We are happy to hang these on our wall!
In Art we have been learning about the work of the famous painter Salvador Dali. We looked at his pictures to inspire us and then created our own clock paintings. Here are some of our creations.
I enjoyed learning about Dali and painting some of his pictures- Ruby.
We created these buckets full of sea life by carefully drawing the outline of a bucket, then adding details such as rocks, sea weed and underwater creatures. We used a variety of lines, patterns and shapes. In writing, we then wrote a set of instructions on “How to draw a sea bucket.” We made sure that the layout was appropriate for a set of instructions and that we used ‘linking’ words for each step.
