Primary 5a studied ‘Splash’ by David Hockney and then created their own version using his particular style. There are lots of straight lines and blocks of colour.

Scottish Assembly 2018
All the Primary 5 children performed their song beautifully. We have added a special affect for internet safety but you can see their actions are spot!
Water Cycles
Primary 5a showed off their knowledge of scientific language in these annotated diagrams. The children chose whether they wanted to work with a partner or on their own. Most people were very successful.
Painting in the style of the Impressionists
Primary 5a looked at some pictures painted by Claude Monet. They tried to use the same style of painting to create their own and many of them were very successful. We are happy to hang these on our wall!

Creating Posters
Primary 4/3 worked with a partner to decide on success criteria for creating a poster. They looked at a variety of ready made posters and decided with their partner why it was successful. They then used their ideas to create a list of success criteria to use when they make their own posters.
Our Brilliant Bodies – Science
Primary 4/3 have been enjoying learning about ‘The Skeleton’ and ‘The Organs’ in Science. Primary 4 carried out research using videos and the internet to make notes. They used their notes to create these informative and eye-catching posters on their chosen human organ. Primary 3 created these labelled diagrams to show that they know the names and position of important bones of the skeleton.
Sea Bucket Art and Writing
We created these buckets full of sea life by carefully drawing the outline of a bucket, then adding details such as rocks, sea weed and underwater creatures. We used a variety of lines, patterns and shapes. In writing, we then wrote a set of instructions on “How to draw a sea bucket.” We made sure that the layout was appropriate for a set of instructions and that we used ‘linking’ words for each step.

Handwriting
We have been learning to use linked script to improve our handwriting skills. We have been learning how to join letters together without taking our pencil off of the page. Many of us enjoy handwriting and are beginning to use these lovely joins in our day to day class work.
