Over the last two weeks we engaged in variety of STEM activities. The theme of this year’s Stem Fortnight was ‘Innovation for the future’ and our class focus was ‘Vaccinations’. Some of the things we did include: watching a video made by GP showing us the process of Covid-19 vaccination; learning about viruses and vaccinations, making models of Covid virus and origami syringes, participating in virtual meetings with various guests (Paul Tyler telling us about the viruses, vaccines and our immune systems; Rebecca Rawlinson and Laura Leslie talking about their jobs as Structural Engineers). We finished STEM Fortnight with presentations of our own designs of how we could improve the process of immunisation in the future.

Over the last two weeks, using Dyson Foundation Design Process Box,  we looked into the job of Design Engineers. We had a chance to find out what characteristics help Design Engineers be successful and took on a role of Design Engineers and came up with our own designs.
