Despite the constant drizzle this morning we still managed to pack in a lot of learning and had lots of fun doing it too!

We started with some listening games then moved on to word creating using vowels, consonants and golden question marks! There were lots of challenges and we managed to create so many words.

Our observation and recording skills were next to be developed as we worked in pairs collecting interesting leaves before observing them closely and recording as many details as we could on a diagram. We then swapped with other pairs and identified each other’s leaves. It was great being able to analyse our work and see where we can improve too.

After a warm up game revising place value using rainbow sticks we moved on to some map reading and orienteering fun.

Despite the constant drizzly rain we learned lots and returned to class with lots of happy smiles.

After a slightly damp start to the day it dried up and we managed to learn lots in pretty nice weather.

We learned all about how to build structurally secure shelters ensuring we had the correct tension and angles and we had great fun making our shelters before playing a game categorising and sorting shapes.

Learning new skills in reading maps and working on courses marked out with markers, we all enjoyed playing a variety of orienteering games this morning. We also learned how important it is to identify north on a map and hold our maps the correct way round while we were working.

Everyone particularly enjoyed the clock game where we had to uncover and record different nouns against each number on the clock….then we set challenges to put them in alphabetical order and find appropriate adjectives to describe the nouns.
