We are becoming very confident at reading our tricky words. On Wednesday, we worked with a partner and went on a word hunt through our library books. Here’s what we found. 😁

A massive well done to one of our boys for competing in a recent skiing competition on Glencoe. We loved hearing about it!
We are now washing our hands a lot in school. We have spoken about how to wash our hands properly and do this for at least 20 seconds each time 🙂
Firstly the children line up at the sink, wet their hands and take some soap. They then go to the end of the line and by the time they have reached the sink again, they are ready to rinse and go 🤩
We loved looking through microscopes in ICT. 🤩
We were very excited to be told this morning that there will be a cob oven built this week in our playground. We might even be getting some pizza from it once it is ready 🤩
Everyone was asked to create designs for how the oven should look. Here are some of our fabulous ideas 💡
Today we had a visit from a lady who worked with Dog’s Trust. She told us about the best way to treat dogs and even made us think about the dogs feelings when we are handling them.
Today we were visited by a person from the SSPCA. He told us about all the amazing things they do and we really enjoyed looking at all the pictures of the animals they have helped.
Later we had the Dams to Darnley park ranger in telling us about his work. We learned about the different wildlife that inhabits there and also found out how the dams are drained and filled. It was very interesting and we had some excellent questions.
Today we had a technology hour in class which we all loved. We alternated between using the iPads to play maths games, playing Nessy on the computer and using Virtual Reality headsets. We were all so excited to use the VR Headsets and enjoyed seeing different images of the coast and sea life. Mrs Stephenson had to keep reminding us not to walk around with them on or we would bump into things!
Yesterday was the beginning of a fantastic two weeks filled with STEM activities. To start it all off, we were visited by a woman from WaterAid who spoke to us about all the amazing work they do. We quickly realised how lucky we are to have such easy access to clean water and toilets ! In the afternoon we were visited by a very successful engineer, Dr Peter Hughes OBE.
Last Wednesday we got a break in the bad weather and enjoyed the sunshine for half an hour to do our Daily Mile .
We stayed out for PE and played games with our shadows.
