When typing in your child’s username, you do not need to type in the part ‘@glow.sch.uk’. For example, if your child’s username was gw18bloggsjoe@glow.sch.uk , you would only need to type in ‘gw18bloggsjoe’ into the username section.

Let me know if you have any trouble.

Mrs Stephenson

It has been a busy week in 1.4!

We continued with our Social Studies topic looking at methods of transport from the past in comparison with what we use today. We loved the old style bicycle and some of us really want to be taken home from school in a horse and cart!

During our literacy time we have been focusing on reading. We have been using our scanning skills to find different words in our books, sequencing our story in the correct order on storyboards and developing our confidence when reading aloud.

Numeracy & Maths has involved a mixture of ordering numbers and completing calculations. Mrs Stephenson likes to challenge our mental maths during class games. We are getting much faster with our answers. Sometimes we play against her (but we always win!).

We have also reorganised our room and we are really happy with the results. We took ownership of how the classroom would be laid out and where to place our resources so we could easily access them.  We will upload pictures as soon as we can.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! The boys and girls have been in high spirits this morning. It’s great to get back into routine! This week, our timetable remains the same which means there are no changes to P.E days. We will begin our new timetable next week and will notify you of changes through the homework diary.

Reading books have now been issued to all groups for homework. These will also be visited in class throughout the week with follow up activities. We will continue to visit the library for children to choose their own books and these can be read at their leisure. Borrowed books must be returned in order to take a new book home.

We look forward to continuing to work with you for the remainder of Primary 1. As always, if you have any questions please get in touch via the homework diaries or telephone the school office.

Thanks,

Mrs Stephenson
