We also met two nurses who came to our class and spoke to us about CPR. They showed us how to help someone when they’re not breathing. We practised this on our teddy bears. We pressed our teddies chest to the tune of “Baby Shark.”

This week has been Health Week in school. 1.4 had a visit from a doctor , who spoke about his job in a hospital. The children told him about some of their trips to hospital too. We then got to listen through a stethoscope , try on a mask and put bandages on each other. Thanks so much to the doctor ( the dad of a P.1 child) for popping in to see us.
The class chose something they would like to learn about. After some discussion, they chose ‘aeroplanes ‘. In Art we made planes of various sizes and colours. We took them outside and flew them. It was very exciting and we had great fun. In our next lesson we’ll measure , in steps, how far each plane flew. We’ll then make a graph to show our results.
Today we had a leadership assembly. Boys and girls from our class and across the school have been chosen or volunteered to be part of a school group.
The children often draw, write or make something in our mark making area. This might relate to the sound or number that we’ve focussed on. We’ve got a lot of children who are keen to draw too.
In our roleplay area we opened a hairdressers today. We enjoyed getting some lovely styles for the weekend !
The children are using their new phonics knowledge to make words.
.
We had lots of conkers which we were patiently waiting to open. The children loved seeing the chestnuts which were inside. They had fabulous describing words to say what they looked like – shiny, smooth, giant …..
If you find anything which is a sign of autumn eg. leaves changing colour, chestnuts etc please bring them into school and we can share them with the class.
We are continuing to practise writing our names. Before we do so we make sure we are holding our pencils correctly.
.
We’ve been using the magnetic letters to make new words.
We spent a lot of time in the playground today -opening our chestnuts and enjoying our values playtime. So we stayed in class and did some Cosmic Yoga for P.E uThe. children loved it ! We’ll definitely be doing it again.
