Homework

As you will have noticed, the homework diary sheets have changed. As stated on the sheet, homework should be done to suit your family life.

Your child will be given a Literacy task & a Maths task. At the moment these are in booklet form.

Some children will also have been given tricky words to practise. These will eventually be given to all groups.
Mrs O’Donnell and I will ensure your child receives the correct homework task based on their current group. The groups are regularly reviewed and updated based on your child’s learning.

Any questions regarding homework please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Mrs Stephenson

Update

Reindeer Jars

Thank you very much for handing in your glass jars. We now have enough for the Christmas Fayre 😊🎄

Homework

I am meeting with the rest of the p1 teachers tomorrow to discuss the current format of homework & parental feedback we have received. Once I have had this meeting, I will add a homework post to the blog to ensure there is a general understanding amongst parents. Your feedback is always very much appreciated.

Communication

We check homework diaries each morning so please continue to write notes if you have any questions or concerns. We look forward to meeting with you at next week’s parents evening to discuss your child’s progress.

Have a great week,

Mrs Stephenson

Christmas Fayre

In the coming weeks we are going to begin our Christmas jars to go on sale at the Christmas Fayre. Please donate any unwanted glass jars you have (with the lid). When dropping children off please send these in with them to be handed straight to either Mrs Stephenson or Mrs O’Donnell (to ensure none are left in bags). We are needing 24 in total.

Thank you,

Mrs Stephenson ☺️

Flu vaccinations

We were called for our flu vaccinations at 9.30 this morning. Everyone was very brave ☺️ The boys and girls are very pleased that we still made it to P.E 👍 Your child will have a note in their homework folder confirming whether they have received the flu vaccination or not. If a child did not have written consent they will not have been vaccinated today.

Letter of thanks

The children were all very keen to discuss the recent fire at Mearns Primary. We took the opportunity this afternoon to explore fire safety and decided to write a letter of thanks to the fire service. This letter has been sent for the attention of Clarkston fire station. As you will be aware, the fire service arrived within minutes of the fire being reported and as a result our classroom was left unharmed. We are very thankful for the work that they do.
