STEM Week Visitors
On Tuesday we had a visit from the Reggaelicious Food Truck. They told us all about the STEM skills that they used to help create their business. They had to use maths skills and engineering skills to build out the inside their truck. They also told us about the STEM jobs they had before they started their food business. We really enjoyed seeing the food they made and learning about where all the food came from.
Sumdog Competition.
We were the daily winners in the East Renfrewshire competition yesterday!! 😃
Health & Wellbeing
We have been learning about our feelings and talking about how we feel when we are anxious and what sort of things make us feel anxious.
We learned that we can react in different ways to feeling anxious and we are not all the same.
Twosday Challenges!
Today’s date is Tuesday 22nd February 2022 or 22/02/2022.
When the date is written in number form it is both a palindrome and an ambigram.
That means it reads the same way from left to right, from right to left AND upside down!
In class we have set ourselves some ‘Twosday Challenges’.
1. We are all going to complete 22 laps of the pitch this week during our Daily Mile.
2. We were silent in class today for 22 minutes and 22 second! (Yes we really were! 👏🏻👏🏻) We kept ourselves busy doing some ‘Twosday’ Mindfulness colouring.
3. We found many different ways to make the number 22 using add, subtract, multiply and divide.
What a busy Twosday we have had! 🤩
We do love being out in the snow!
For our values reward time on Friday we went out to play in the snow. It was a different type of snow to the snow we had in January, less powdery.
When we rolled it up it came up in layers and was like rolling up a carpet.
Here are some pictures showing the fun we had 😃❄️⛄️
Our Victorian Classroom
Today ‘Miss Albert’ visited our class and took us back in time to 1872. She was little more strict than Mrs McGoldrick 😉 but we still had lots of fun!
We worked on our times tables, played with hoops and made hopscotch games in the playground. We had ‘drill’ in the Gymnasium and learnt how to do Copperplate writing ✍🏼✍🏾.
Here are some photos of our day.
The Canadian Barn Dance
Today we learnt how to do the Canadian Barn Dance for our dance lesson. Mrs McGoldrick thought we did a fantastic job. You will see in the video that we were so good she did not have to lead us with any instructions, we had listened so well we were able to do with dance without having to be reminded what to do. 🤩🤩💃🏽🕺🏼🌟🌟
N.B. We sanitised our hands before and after our dancing.
Timelines
As a class we voted to find out about what life was like for Victorian children. Today we have been busy creating timelines so we can understand when Victorians lived.
Fun in the snow
We all enjoyed spending our ‘Values Reward Time’ out playing in the snow today. The snow was not the sort that made it easy to build snowmen but we tried our best. Although it was cold we all had a great time! 😊⛄️❄️
