Some of the boys were excited to play a game on the board where they had to choose the next shape to complete the pattern correctly.

2D shapes in everyday life
Today we have been learning to spot 2d shapes in every day life. We worked in teams to cut and stick pictures that looked like squares, rectangles, triangles, circles, pentagons, hexagons and even octagons. We learned that octagons have 8 sides, we know this because an octopus has 8 legs. 🐙
2D shapes
We have been learning about 2D shapes today. We made our own 2D shapes pizzas, wrote our 2D pizza recipes and identified shapes by their appearance. Bon appetite! 🍕😁
Phonics this morning
We’ve had a very busy morning doing our phonics activities!
We’ve looked at alternative spellings and matched the headings and words. We’ve looked through story books for words with the sounds we are learning this week. We’ve been revising previous sounds and writing them in our jotters. We’ve. Even unscrambling words. Finally, we’ve been matching words with initial sounds. It’s all go in P2.5! 🐝
Dress as you please day
We looked fabulous today in our own clothing! 🤩
Maths week
We do maths everyday, but it is maths week this week so we are celebrating maths even more! ⭐️
H and C have been extending their knowledge of number bonds by using the rainbow to make 10. 🌈
Some of us have been counting in 2s and writing odd and even numbers.
Finlay, Lochlan, Rhuaridh and Riley built a fort with different heights using sticks and reels.
Hamza and Karl built a wall and explored shape and height.
Some of us have been learning to recognise numbers written in words. We played bingo which was lots of fun! Arianna and Lochlan won our bingo game. 🥇
We have also been listening to books about mathematicians, scientists and engineers. The people reading them to us are astronauts and they’ve read them from space crafts! 🚀
Testing out materials
Here are the pictures from last week. We tested out our characters and their umbrellas to test if they were waterproof. 💦
